Public Information Event Marks the Beginning of the Warm Homes Campaign in Cookstown

17/09/2010

The Warm Homes team recently held a Public Information Event in Cookstown.

A range of organisations provided information and advice on a range of services including the Pension Service, Energy Saving Trust, Oil Stamp Scheme, O4O and Access to Benefits. Warm Homes Staff and contractors were on hand all day to provide advice and further information on the Scheme and assisting members of the public in completing application forms to get onto the Scheme.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of Cookstown District Council, John McNamee urged eligible members of the public to avail of the scheme: “Cookstown District has been identified as one of the highest regions in Northern Ireland for Fuel Poverty.”The provision of a safe, warm home is the standard which we expect everyone within this country to be able to attain.”

Orla Ward, Senior Manager, with Bryson Charitable Group detailed the benefits of the Scheme, “I encourage householders across Cookstown District Council to apply to the Warm Homes Scheme now. This is the time of year to get your home ready for winter and you could be reaping the rewards of a warmer, more comfortable home that is cheaper to heat all year round.”

To find out if you are eligible, or to apply to the Scheme, please call the Warm Homes team in Enniskillen on 0800 988 0559 or visit www.warm-homes.com
